NH 544: Coimbatore's trade route into Kerala

NH 544 runs south-west from Coimbatore through Madukkarai to Walayar and the Kerala border. It's the main highway for trade between Tamil Nadu's textile and manufacturing economy and Kerala's markets.

That trade has made the belt popular for warehouses, transport and logistics businesses, alongside the long-established cement and limestone industry around Madukkarai.

Getting around, and the Kerala trade

The highway gives direct freight access between Coimbatore's industry and Kerala, a real advantage for businesses that supply both states.

Within Coimbatore, it links back to Ukkadam and the city centre via Madukkarai and Sundakkamuthur, so the belt stays reasonably easy to reach despite being near the border.

What's for sale

Highway-facing industrial and warehouse land draws the most interest, especially plots suited to transport, cold storage or logistics between the two states.

House plots in the belt serve local factory workers and usually cost well below Coimbatore's established southern suburbs, given the industrial setting.
